Job Description

Role & responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server
  
• Configure log shipping and troubleshoot synchronization issues to ensure data is consistently transferred between primary and secondary SQL Server instances.
  
• Perform manual failover in log shipping scenarios during planned maintenance or unplanned outages.
  
• Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies for Point in time Recovery.
  
• Monitor and optimize database performance using native tools and performance tuning techniques.
  
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
  
• Implement and monitor Change Data Capture (CDC) to support data replication and auditing.
  
• Troubleshoot locking, deadlocks, and long-running queries to improve database performance and ensure smooth operations.
  
• Familiarity with database security and access control.
  
• Maintain accurate documentation for database procedures, environments, and failover steps.
