The role involves leading the development of research in Electrical Power Systems Engineering, specifically focusing on software-defined power to manage stranded power in a DC. You will collaborate with Design and Engineering core teams to design, implement, and manage DC electrical systems for new projects, upgrades, and rectifications. Your responsibilities include integrating the latest technologies to reduce costs and achieve specific cost savings. Additionally, you will contribute to new technology insertions by providing site-specific requirements during the development phase. You will be expected to conduct quarterly reviews of technologies and commercial aspects. Proficiency in modelling, simulation, and data management using software such as MATLAB and COMSOL is essential for this role. The work culture may require occasional work beyond regular business hours to meet project deadlines, engage in research outreach, and deliver event presentations. You must be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team to ensure the successful outcome of applied research projects. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Masters or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field from a recognized university. A specialization in Power Engineering would be beneficial. Previous experience in designing, constructing, and commissioning medium/low voltage and high voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems, and power management tools is required. Knowledge of power system condition monitoring is also preferred.,
