Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to meet business requirements.
Work with business users to gather and understand reporting needs and KPIs. Create and optimize complex DAX queries for data modeling and calculations.
Develop, implement, and maintain advanced data models in Power BI.
Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Write SQL queries to fetch data from relational and non-relational databases.
Build reusable and scalable data models for future reporting and analytics.
Collaborate with the data engineering team to integrate data from various sources, including cloud-based and on-premise databases.
Design and implement measures, calculated columns, and other DAX functions to support key metrics and visualizations.
Develop efficient, high-performing Power BI solutions by optimizing DAX calculations and data models.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data accuracy, report performance, and data refreshes.
Create Power BI templates, custom visuals, and other custom solutions as needed.
Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and insights for decision-making. Provide end-user support and training on Power BI reports and dashboards.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating complex formulas and calculations.
Solid understanding of Power Query, data transformation, and ETL processes.
Proficient in SQL for querying and managing data in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
Experience with Power BI Service, including report publishing, sharing, and security settings. Experience in data modeling, including star schema and snowflake schema, for reporting purposes.
Familiarity with integrating Power BI with various data sources such as SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field. Experience with Power BI Pro features Familiarity with other BI tools and platforms like MicroStrategy, Tableau or Qlik is a plus. Power BI certifications are highly desirable
