Job Description

JOB LOCATION : KOLKATA

JOB TYPE : CONTRACTUAL/FULL TIME

Responsible for operational support and maintenance of the global Linux/UNIX environments running Solaris and Redhat Enterprise Linux including server builds, administration, configuration and ongoing maintenance of servers
Maintain server availability for all sites and periodically participate in DR exercises
Must have good problem solving, teamwork, communication and customer service skills
Resolve help desk escalations and process items in a ticket queue
The working hours for this position are between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. There are no after-hours on call requirements, but the individual will take part in a weekend rotation with the rest of the operations team to help provide coverage seven days a week
Monitor servers and remediate alerts that get raised
Solaris 10
RHEL 5 & 6
TCP/IP, NFS, NIS, DNS, LDAP, FTP, Samba, sendmail
Experience with shell scripting. Perl or python is a plus
Conceptual knowledge of storage and networking components

SKILLS

Ability to conduct training sessions to share knowledge with peers and other support teams as necessary
Knowledge or experience with DevOps, OpenShift, AWS cloud, or other similar technologies is desirable
Basic knowledge of storage and networking - 2 to 4 years of experience
Strong Understating of Linux operating and working knowledge
Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and provide resolution
Strong attention to detail
Have good understating of Change management policy
Highly organized
Able to multitask efficiently and effectively
PC proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Office
