Software Test Engineer @ Explarity Solutions

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Software Test Engineer to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of software products through manual and/or automated testing. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to identify, document, and resolve issues.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Analyze software requirements and create detailed, comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories.
• Execute manual and/or automated tests to ensure the product meets quality standards.
• Log and track defects using tools like Jira
• Report bugs and errors to development teams.
• Perform regression testing and retesting of resolved issues.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and working with user stories and product backlogs.
• Prepare test summary reports and ensure documentation is maintained
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and tools.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of software testing lifecycle (STLC) and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience in manual testing and familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG) is a plus.
• Proficiency in writing test cases, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of SQL for data validation and basic database queries.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in Software Testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus and familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.
