Job Description

Roles and Responsibility

• Migration Planning and Strategy:
• Analyze existing Autosys job dependencies, schedules, and configurations.
• Develop a comprehensive migration plan, including timelines, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define migration requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Automation Development: [should be strong in Java or Python , shell script ]
• Design and develop automated scripts and Autosys job definitions into the target scheduling tool.
• Implement automated testing and validation procedures to ensure accurate migration.
• Create scripts to handle bulk migration of jobs, including job dependencies, calendars, and alerts.
• Develop error handling and rollback procedures for migration failures.
• Target Tool Configuration: [As discussed , shell scripts deployments + Devops ci/cd pipeline deployment model]
• Configure and optimize the target job scheduling tool to meet business requirements.
• Implement best practices for job scheduling, monitoring, and alerting.
• Create and maintain documentation for the migrated jobs and the migration process.
• Testing and Validation:
• Conduct thorough testing of migrated jobs in a test environment.
• Perform performance testing and optimization of migrated jobs.
• Work with application teams to validate the functionality and accuracy of migrated jobs.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including application developers, operations engineers, and project managers.
• Provide regular updates on migration progress and issues.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the migration process and migrated jobs.
• Provide knowledge transfer to operation teams.
