Role & responsibilities

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled ETL Tester to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in ETL testing using tools like Talend (preferred), Informatica PowerCenter, or IBM DataStage, along with a strong command of SQL for data validation and backend testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute test cases for ETL processes.
  
• Perform data validation and data integrity testing across various data sources and destinations.
  
• Work closely with developers, data engineers, and business analysts to understand ETL requirements.
  
• Troubleshoot data issues and identify root causes through SQL analysis.
  
• Perform regression, system, integration, and UAT testing.
  
• Validate ETL performance and load testing as needed.
  
• Create detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and defect reports.
  

Required Skills:

• ETL Tools: Proficiency in Talend (preferred), Informatica PowerCenter, or IBM DataStage.
  
• SQL Expertise: Strong experience in writing complex SQL queries for data comparison, validation, and debugging.
  
• Data Warehousing Concepts: Good understanding of data models, schemas, and data flows in a DWH environment.
  
• Testing Skills: Experience in functional, integration, regression, and system testing of ETL workflows.
  
• Defect Management Tools: Exposure to tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.
