Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Collection Executive with at least 1 year of experience in US healthcare collections. The role involves managing outstanding balances, following up with patients to collect bad debts, and ensuring timely resolution of payment issues while maintaining a patient-focused approach.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Patient Account Management: Review patient accounts with outstanding balances and determine the most effective collection strategies.
- Debt Collection: Contact patients via phone, email, or letters to resolve overdue payments and collect outstanding bad debts.
- Follow-Up: Maintain timely follow-up on accounts, ensuring all collection activities are documented in the system.
- Negotiation: Discuss payment plans with patients and establish feasible arrangements while adhering to company policies.
- Compliance: Ensure all collection activities comply with HIPAA and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Reporting: Generate and maintain reports on collection status, payment arrangements, and bad debt resolution.
- Customer Service: Address patient inquiries regarding balances, billing statements, and payment options professionally and empathetically.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduate with minimum 2 year of experience in patient collections or related roles in US healthcare.
- Knowledge of medical billing, insurance claims, and collection processes in the US healthcare system.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
