Software Engineer (MUMPS Developer) @ Altera Digital Health

Job Description

As a member of the N. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, and deploying software applications and services. Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices and coding standards is crucial. You will participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions, debug and resolve software defects and performance issues, and conduct code reviews for knowledge sharing within the team. Additionally, you will work on sustaining to provide development support for client-reported issues, continuously learn new technologies, contribute to process improvement initiatives, and stay updated with industry trends in software engineering. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and have proven experience (typically 2-4 years) in software development. Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., MUMPS, C++, JavaScript) is required, with preference for MUMPS/Cache technology or IRIS (Intersystem). A strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving techniques, familiarity with database technologies like SQL and MySQL, knowledge of software testing methodologies and frameworks, and excellent communication skills for effective teamwork are essential. Nice to have qualifications include experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful APIs), familiarity with agile development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban, and healthcare domain expertise.
