Job Description
We're looking for a Technical Product Manager who will manage the development and optional delivery of a portfolio of technical products / projects.

This role will ultimately own the business outcome (from ideation to launch to operations / support - essentially cradle to grave) and is also responsible for understanding business and competitive landscape (including constraints, goal setting, defining requirements and getting these actioned, generating related collateral, managing changes, anticipate risks / bottlenecks, removing roadblocks, escalation management, communicating broadly with multiple stakeholders and building concensus.
The ideal profile is someone who's moved from a tech lead role to technical product management -needs to understand technology, manage technical product delivery and deliver business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and articulate the expected value of proposed product initiatives and related assumptions that need validation. Run POCs / experiments / tests to create validated learning (around value and growth hypothesis, technical feasibility, business viability etc) that helps iteratively increase the confidence level in the business outcome being targeted, thus succeeding in the long run (or failing fast).
- Uncover and understand customer / stakeholder needs and translate them into requirement and prioritize these based on a triage process. This includes assessments on and addressing of technical debt and / or technical risk and leveraging new technologies that can improve the time to value.
- Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance and operations. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
- Be the external "face of the product" - essentially act as a product evangelist and subject matter expert, represent the product at internal / external forums, answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities and provide internal and customer training on how to use the product and and create / maintain related collateral.
- Define the success criteria for initiatives, provide constructs to measure these, and track these to closure (resulting in pivot or persevere decisions). This success criteria will involve not just product (or initiative) delivery / operations - testing and product acceptance, but also the business outcome being targeted - adoption, growth, value, and unit economics etc. Desired Candidate profile:
- Bachelor of computer engineering or related education.
- 15+ yrs. overall experience and atleast 4+ years of Technical Leadership experience in a technologyoriented products organization.
- Technically hands on - ideally someone who's moved from a tech lead role to technical product management
- Proven track record of successfully launching technology products and services with geographically distributed teams.
- Product mindset and understanding of product lifecycle including conceptualizing value propositions, planning and delivery, driving adoption / growth, operations and unit economics.
- Working knowledge of project / product management tools like Jira, TFS etc.
- Excellent written and verbal skills including tuning the messaging based on audience mix.
Primary Technical Skills: Technical product management, lean product development, sound technical grounding - design / architecture and tradeoffs in the context of cloud and on-prem applications for the enterprise, JavaScript, MEAN Stack (AngularJS, NodeJS), CI/CD Pipelines. Exposure to messaging platforms, chatbots and big data is a plus.
