Job Description
- As an Experienced Structural R&D Engineer at Hitachi Energy, you will have the opportunity to join the Global Multi-Physics Simulation (GLOMUS) network team. This team consists of experts in various fields such as electrical, structural, acoustic, thermo-mechanic, and fluid dynamics analyses, simulations, and testing. Your role will involve contributing to innovative development projects, supporting different engineering offices globally, and working on new technologies and products within the Product Group Transformers, Insulation, and Components. In this position, your responsibilities will include creating and enhancing analytical tools, finite element methodologies, and automations for structural, static, fatigue, and dynamic analysis. You will actively participate in the design process, propose new ideas through concept design, prototyping, and verification, and support mechanical design and simulation tasks for new product development projects. Additionally, you will conduct mechanical and seismic feasibility studies, prepare design specifications, and provide support in transferring technology and knowledge to other technical centers. To qualify for this role, you should have a Master's degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering, or physics, with a strong foundation in structural dynamics and vibrations. A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical simulations, including static, fatigue, and dynamic analyses, is required. Proficiency in numerical methods for mechanical simulations and experience with software suites like ANSYS Workbench or COMSOL is preferred. Knowledge of programming languages such as MATLAB, Mathcad, Python, and Ansys ACT is important for creating custom simulations and analyzing data. Additionally, familiarity with 3D-CAD modeling, cPLM, Windchill, structural testing, fiber optics, and sensors application would be beneficial. As a successful candidate, you should possess a high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and willingness to learn new technologies and simulation methodologies. You should be able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team to deliver high-quality results on time. Fluency in written and spoken English is required, as well as the willingness to travel due to the global nature of the business.
