 Analog Power Electronics - Validation

Job Description

As a Validation Engineer at Mid-Vin Buck (MVB), you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing validation strategies for high current mid-voltage regulators. In this position, you will work directly with cross-functional teams to ensure that power solutions meet customer and market requirements while being technically and cost-wise optimized. Your responsibilities will include designing validation boards, developing validation plans, and executing system-level performance evaluations for enterprise computing applications. Your role will involve developing validation boards, including schematics and layouts, that align with customer use cases and applications. You will be responsible for modularizing the validation board, addressing mixed-signal challenges, ensuring scalability of hardware for various setups, and closely collaborating with customers on EVMs. Additionally, you will create and document comprehensive validation plans that encompass a deep understanding of both the device and system environment. As part of your responsibilities, you will define the Validation Strategy encompassing hardware, software, and instrumentation, and develop and implement validation test cases using scripting languages such as Python, TestStand, and LabVIEW. You will conduct system-level and parametric tests on the bench, work closely with design and firmware teams to address customer needs, debug device and setup-related issues, and lead efforts to drive issue resolution independently. Furthermore, you will collaborate with application engineers to address customer issues, implement custom features in firmware, and provide technical support as needed. Your role will also involve mentoring and guiding junior engineers within the team, showcasing your leadership and technical expertise. To qualify for this role, you must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and possess 5-15 years of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include experience in validation engineering of analog products, proficiency in hardware debugging, excellent time management, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, expertise in simulating and designing inverters and/or DCDC converters, knowledge of semiconductor power switches, and proficiency in tools such as Simplis, Matlab, Altium, PSPICE, LabView, and Python are desirable. Successful candidates for this position will demonstrate schematic and PCB layout design skills, physical layout management, and a meticulous approach to ensuring high-quality results. You should be adept at managing time effectively, collaborating with colleagues and customers, and fostering a creative and productive work environment.,
