Desired Candidate Profile

Role Description

The role shall be responsible for overseeing analysis and development of scalable, Secure and high available software platform for GST Technology System. Incumbent is expected to be an individual with strong background on software development of a highly distributed application with knowledge on internet scale internet facing applications. Incumbent is also supposed to be well verse with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and must have exposure to Agile development methodology. S/He is expected to work closely with MSP counterparts and fellow GSTNers and participate in technical design review, estimation of software development effort, user acceptance testing, document and report review etc. A technical leader with proven track record in any of the high-level software languages like Java, C, C++. Additional knowledge of any scripting language like perl, python, shell over and above the high-level language is desired.
Key Skillsets
Strong software algorithms fundamentals converting complex algorithms into develop-able software
Must have knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem and its imperatives in developing scalable applications
Strong knowledge around API driven integration framework (RESTful, SoAP, etc)
Strong development background in Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
Experience with any one build framework (Ant, Maven, Make etc.)
Strong background with SDLC and agile development practices.
Good understanding of internet facing applications with multi-tenancy support in multi-tier architecture
Strong fundamentals of Data structures and implementation for faster access velocities
Excellent communication skills in English language, both written and spoken is expected.

Leadership

Take an active role in not only reviewing technical design, but also propose workable and simple solutions to complex problems
Work with MSP to close man day estimates as per approved estimation template for development of Change Requests
Analysis of problem statements and converting into development-able framework
Champion for inter team collaboration, both internally and externally.

Key Attributes

Min.8 years experience in hands on development for application using any programming language.
Min 3 years in developing internet scale web facing consumer oriented application in high concurrency environment
Certifications like TOGAF 9.x are desirable.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
