Desired Candidate Profile


Role Summary/Purpose :
Responsible for wing-to-wing execution of technical projects/platforms to deliver high quality outcomes to internal and external customers.

Qualifications/Requirements :
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in the software domain or a Masters Degree with 6+ years of experience
- Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least two year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. (Adjust based on your necessity)
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
- Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
Desired Characteristics :
- Experience is playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
- Knowledge of other Agile approaches: SAFe, XP, Kanban.
- Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
- Applicable knowledge of the technologies (Java/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, AngularJS, REST & SOAP Web Services, HTML5, CSS3 & Junit, Mockito/Power Mock.) used by the team.
- The experience in applying a wide variety of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: various Burndown technologies, many Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- Technical Expertise: Problem Decomposition, Estimation, Requirements Management, Methods/Practices.
- Leadership: Influence/ Accountability, Execution, Collaboration.
- Personal Attributes: Passion/ Perseverance, Analytical/Critical Thinking, Result-oriented with ownership. Communicate with and influence leadership and business stakeholders, with confidence and clarity.

Essential Responsibilities :
- Partners with functional product owner to define features backlog and requirements, works with technical team internal and external to the initiative to ensure outcomes delivery on time, within scope and budget and of desired quality.
- Work closely with Program Manager, Inter-dependent platforms/Applications, global, cross-functional stakeholders to deliver the valuable outcomes to our internal customers desire.
- Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
- Plan and manage delivery & timelines for the given projects/platforms.
- Define execution plan and approach based on project scope, expected timeline and available resources.
- Communicate effectively with Program team, leadership, providing transparency to the status, quality, and throughput of work through metrics and reviews.
- Responsible for managing work deliverable's, risk, and dependencies of the solutions across a standard systems development life cycle (SDLC), using appropriate approaches including agile and water-fall strategies.
- Guiding the team on how to get the most out of self-organization.
- Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
- Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
- Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
- Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
- Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
- Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
- Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
- Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example.
- Work with product managers, technical leadership/architects to deliver timely outcomes with defined quality.
