Job Description
Department: Obs & Gynae
Qualification: MBBS + Diploma/ DNB / MS (Obs & Gynae)
Experience :0-3 years of experience
KRA's
1. Admission process
Working up of the patients and to complete the file at the time of admission; includes but not limited to
Taking the patient history and correlating this with the available medical reports
Making sure that the treatment advised prior to the admission by the Consultant In- charge (including but not limited to the sending samples for lab investigations, imaging, ECG etc) has been started by the Nursing staff and if no treatment was advised prior to admission, advise treatment in consultation with the Consultant In-charge and make sure that the treatment is started.
2. Ward management
As soon as patient is shifted to ward the resident should assess the patient and record initial examinations.
Take routine Resident rounds in morning and evening of admitted patients (independent of Consultant-in-charge).
To assist the Consultant during the rounds. Take down the notes/advise and ensure its implementation
To ensure that all investigation reports have been collected and filed properly
To meet the patient and the relatives and answer their questions/concerns including the process of surgery, treatment plan, charges of surgery etc in consultation with the Consultant In-charge
To coordinate with the consultant-in-charge regarding the condition of the patient, call the consultant if the condition of the patient so warrants and treat/manage the patient under the advise of the consultant
To assist the consultant/to do bed side dressings/minor procedures of admitted patient as per requirement
To ensure that proper handing and taking over is done at the end and beginning of the shift
3. Operation Theatre management
To prepare the list of patients whose surgery is to be done on next day and ensure that they are admitted in the hospital and in case of day care surgery, patient and the consultant have been informed about it and ensure O.T. booking is done for the surgery
Arrange availability of the OT time slot in consultation with the surgeon incharge of the case.
To send investigations as advised and inform the consultant after checking the investigations
