AWS DevOps candidates for
the migration of applications/data from any platform into AWS . Migrating an organizations data and applications into the cloud is one of the most important steps in any cloud journey, and Rackspace is looking to add key talent that can deliver efficient and effective migrations for our customers. A successful candidate must have systems administration experience with Competent web programming and scripting ability. Competent automation skills with Chef. Broad knowledge of the following: LAMP stack, Ruby, Python scripting, Git highly desirable. Working knowledge of software development methodologies including code profiling, regression testing, and continuous integration.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Automating and orchestrating workloads across multiple public cloud providers majorly on AWS.
- Automation experience with at least one configuration / deployment management system such as Google Deployment Manager, Terraform, Chef (directly or via AWS OpsWorks), Puppet, Ansible, AWS Cloud Formation, Salt, or other such tools.
- Experience working at least one of the following languages: Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby, and Java. Proficient with git and git workflows.
- Proficient in leveraging CI and CD tools to automate testing and deployment. Experience working in an Agile, fast paced, DevOps environment.
- Support internal and external customers on multiple platforms.
- Work with customers and other teams to troubleshoot customer environments to increase user satisfaction.
- First point of contact for handling customer issues, providing guidance and recommendations to increase efficiency and reduce customer incidents.
- Develop tooling and processes to drive and improve customer experience, create playbooks.
JOB COMPLEXITY
- Migrating customer env to AWS.
- In addition to providing customer support, will be responsible for helping build tools and processes necessary for excellent customer outcomes.
- Automate infrastructure and develop tools and processes to improve the customer experience and reduce support toil.
- Architect and Develop full stack solutions, from whiteboard to green SLAs.
- Own issues end-to-end working collaboratively with your team and peers.
- Work with customers and other teams to troubleshoot customer environments to increase end user satisfaction.
- Deep dive into complex performance issues to increase efficiency and reduce customer incidents.
- Mentor others on the team on complex issues and handles the highest level of escalations and customer grievances. Provides mentoring/training and is focused on the evolution of the AWS Platform business.

- Knowledge CLI and API technology use experience (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Bash, YAML or JSON)
- Understanding of migration concepts and mechanisms (e.g. The 6 R's; synchronization mechanisms - block, image, file; sequencing and application grouping; landing zone/blueprints
Required Candidate profile
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- Requires a high school diploma/GED or equivalent 7+ years in progressively more technical roles in support or IT professional services.
- 7-12 years' experience working explicitly in or with cloud technologies AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate Level strongly desired Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
Required Skills:
- Experience designing and building web application environments on AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, etc.
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Maven, GitHub, Ansible
- Experience with Linux and Windows Server system administration.
- Experience with installing and configuring application servers such as WebLogic, JBoss and Tomcat.
- Proficient in developing scripts and scripting languages.
- A team player capable of high performance, flexibility in a dynamic working environment and the ability to lead.
- Skill and ability to train others on technical and procedural topics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
- 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in designing and developing complex distributed IT solutions (e.g. cloud, distributed systems or high-performance computing experience).
