Job Descriptions:Job Responsibilities:
Establishing the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers & VPN)
The design and implementation of new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment.
Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation.
Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources.
Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
The support and administration of firewall environments in line with IT security policy.
Reporting network operational status by gathering and prioritising information and managing projects
Upgrading data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
The configuration of hosted IP voice services
The basic configuration of firewalls
Remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation
Remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation
Capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centre
Liaising with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis.
Speaking with users via email and phone for initial requirement capture.
Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
Coordinating computer network access and use
Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment and other network appliances.
Participate in managing all network security solutions.
Design, implement, and maintain Audio/Video systems
Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
Collaborate with department heads to assess near and long-term network capacity needs.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
