Job Description
TEST ARCHITECT/TEST MANAGER
Position Summary: A key member of the product engineering department. You will be responsible for successful translating business and product requirements into comprehensive test strategies and scenarios. You will participate in key stages of the product engineering. As a test manager/architect, you will partner strongly with various other departments - Product Line Management (PLM), Engineering, Support and Implementation.
Duties (aka Responsibilities)
- Establish and drive adoption of best practices for the QA department
- Nurture the QA group to become a "customer-first" and "technology-focused" department
- Ensure high motivation of the QA group
- Work closely with PLM, Development and QA teams to review requirements and UX
- Work closely with product architects and development leads to understand product design
- Define test strategy for all major releases and work with QA managers for strategy compliance
- Review test scenarios and test cases - functional, system, performance, sanity and security.
- Help test teams in identifying / defining test environment and test data needs
- Establish a repository of artifacts for the QA group - including test scenarios, cases and test data
- Analyze test cases vs requirements and define improvement plan for overall quality
- Review test quality for Hot-Fixes, Patch and Major releases
- Participate in project retrospectives and determine improvement areas for QA group
- Drive RCA meetings/war rooms when required and recommend improvement actions
- Review issues reported from field and develop improvement plans
- Help in causal analysis of field issues and bug escapes
Qualifications - Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Must have at-least 12 years of experience in testing enterprise class software products
- Must have excellent understanding of how products support customization
- Must have excellent understanding of agile testing practices, metrics and reporting
- Must have excellent understanding and experience with test automation frameworks
- Must have experience in testing web applications
- Must have experience in testing mobile apps
- Must have experience in testing large scale migration programs
- Must have experience in testing integration projects involving 3rd party COTS products
- Must have experience in performance testing
- Must have experience in security testing
- Must have experience with SONAR, JMETER, JUNIT, Crash Dump Analysis, Memory and Performance profilers
- Must have awareness of technologies such as HTML, JavaScript.NET, JAVA, SQL, SHELL Scripting
- Experience in media domain (advertising, broadcast, production, OTT) is desired
- Exposure to streaming, web based video players is desired
