Job Description
Your primary role will be as listed below but not limited to:
1.Attending regular site meetings with professionals, including quantity surveyors, building services engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, professionals involved in the project (i.e. Architects, project planners, etc.) And the client who has commissioned the construction
2.Maintaining strict quality control procedures - this necessitates regular testing of materials, visual inspections of work, and frequent tours of the site
3.Conducting regular site safety checks.
4.Ensuring the project runs to schedule and to budget, and finding solutions to problems that may cause delays, i.e. Late arrival of materials.
5.Maintaining schedules, cost, safety; oversee sub-contractors and own labour and maintain relationships with architect, client and their representatives.
6.Construct projects in accordance with the plans, specifications and the best standards of the trade.
7.Overseeing the day to day on site operations and reporting to the Project Manager.
8.Take responsibility of safety, supervision and progress monitoring of on-site subcontractors and own labour.
9.Ensure that all operation on site is running smoothly and the trades are adhering to site safety regulations.
10.Provide timely and accurate time sheets for own labour whenever required.
11.Completing appropriate paperwork in connection with any of the duties listed above.
12.Liaising with the client, other construction professionals and, sometimes, members of the public.
13.Coordinating and supervising construction workers.
14.Selecting tools and materials.
15.Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety.
16.Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings.
17.Finding ways to prevent problems and to solve any that crop up.
18.Assessing and minimizing risk.
19.Writing reports and keeping on top of paperwork.
20.Any other ad-hoc projects and duties as required by the management.
Knowledge/Experience Requirements:
Proven experience in the Railway signalling
Degree / Diploma in Engineering
Quality, WHS and Environmental Management experience
Highly effective in planning, organising and problem-solving skills
Highly effective communication and conflict resolution skills
Computer literacy using Microsoft Packages including Excel & Word
