Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities

Must Have - Mysql development experience required

• Experience of MySQL mandatory
  
• Writing code and performance tuning of complex stored procedures, functions and maintenance scripts.
  
• Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
  
• Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary.
  
• Should have experience in health monitoring and troubleshooting of database servers
  
• Exposure to logical schema design and physical storage design problems
  
• Experience with database scaling including logical and physical partitioning, database shading and high availability.
  
• Hands-on experience on scripting language (Unix/Python/Shell)
  In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring)
  
• Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications
  Additional responsibilities as assigned
  

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL statements with database management
  
• Understanding of MySQLs underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM
  
• Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
  
• Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
  
• Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler
  
• Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
  
• Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
