Project Leader / Project Manager - Noida @ Landis+Gyr

Key Purpose of Role:

Person shall be responsible to manage smart metering development project. (S)he will be responsible for delivery, schedule management, quality management and project planning in all phases of device/Software development cycle. (S)he will be responsible for functional management of managing entire project resources to deliver a good quality and continuously strive for maximum output and efficiency of the team. Person needs to work closely with cross functional teams including team leads, architects to translate functional requirements into task plan with clear list of assumptions and should be able to resolve dependencies, to do risk planning and defect management. Person needs to do regular status reporting and maintain dash board for key stake holders and run continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks:

Delivery within agreed timeline, cost and competitive quality. Capable of managing programs across different sites and teams

Planning and estimation at competitive efficiency, detail task planning for individuals, task tracking, closure. Capable of creating Roadmaps and consolidation of informations for executive body decisions

Functional management of resources, continuously increasing efficiency and output of team

Work closely with line managers, architects and other key stake holders

Source control, version management and defects management-SVN, TFS

Communication with multisite global teams for requirements tracking, status reporting and closure of issues

Self-learner, able to work with autonomy and challenge also technical and planning assumptions of the team

Perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of experienced judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices

Requirements

Result oriented project manager with proven track record of managing large complex size embedded development projects; Experience in project management tools and techniques

Well versed with Agile, SCRUM, Test Driven development practices and other project management arts. Ideally familiar with CMMi process landscape

Excellent communication skills-written and verbal; experience working on joint projects with European or North American teams

Experience in managing and refining SW development process with capability of supporting multiple development locations and both internal and external resources

Able to manage schedule and increase team efficiency and motivation

Quality management- understanding of defect management and review processes

Willing to travel occasionally

Able to motivate and create a conducive team environment

Capable of working with project managers and knit them for overall program level tracking

Professional Experience and Qualification []

B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics or Electrical engineering with 12+ years of experience in Embedded Software or Devices development out of that 9+ years of experience should be in project management of a large size complex embedded system development project, especially in the SW/FW area. PMP or IPMA certification would be a plus.
