Senior Software Engineer- (JAVA and Devops) @ Telstra

• Works with the capability Feature Team Lead and other team members to craft solutions that meet the strategic goals of the capability.

• Create technical components as designed by the solution engineer. However, applies intelligence, and works with the solution engineer to change designs if there is a better solution. May take on solution engineering role as required.

• Assists other team members in creation of technical components

Key Accountabilities:

• Provide technical leadership to a feature team.

• Design, develop, and deploy products and services produced by the team.

• Continually develops capability both against current demand and the technology/business capability roadmaps provided

• Aids in recruiting staff suitable for the team.

• Review and integrate all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements.

• Continually improve technologies used by the team to deliver products and services to our customers.

• Implement all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements.

• Apply engineering best practices such as Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps as part of high performing software engineering teams to deliver products and services to our customers.

• Provide production support in the production and pre-production environments assisted by all team members. This responsibility is equally shared by all members of the team.

Required Skills

• 7-12 years of hands own experience in delivery of technical components of large complex IT projects.

• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and helping teams explore, adopt and optimize Agile/Lean processes, principles and practices.

• People management and leadership skills

• Deep experiences in Java version 8 or higher and Spring framework/Spring Boot.

• Experience in at least cloud platform such as AWS/Google/Azure cloud services etc .

• Experience in DevOps tools(Bamboo/AWS Code build pipeline, CI/CD, GIT, Unit Test)

• Deep technical knowledge of microservices, web development frameworks and APIs.

• Engaging and influencing internal stakeholders such as operations, architects and various business groups

• Excellent articulation communication skills
