Job Description
Role and Responsibility
- Review the Power electronics product requirements, create technical specification, architecture design complying with requirements
- Design optimal concepts and topologies for given applcation/requirements which may inlcude like Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, Flyback, Forward, Half and Full bridge converter, , driver circuits, protections
- Perform component selection, Create, update, maintain the schematic design, BOM, design documents
- Provide detailed circuit analysis, Stress analysis, simulations, Worst case circuit analysis, HW FMEA
- Provide PCB layout design guidelines to PCB designers, review and support in PCB designa and Gerber release
- Conduct design reviews and align with global stakeholders
- Research, explore, identify the industry trends, new technologies for optimized SWaP-C (Size, weight, Power and cost) solutions
- Participate and represent/support the organization at Industry conferrences
- Develop Proof of Concept (PoC) for new technologies for required Technology Readiness Level (TRLs)
- Preparation of test plans for the circuits designed or modified, troubleshooting hardware, debugging
- Perform Design validation testing, reliability analysis and qualification as per DO160G amd MIL standards
- Support the project team in procurement, prototyping, manufacturing assembly and tests for volume production, RCA, Obsolescence support, certification activities.
Qualification and Skills:
- BE or Master s degree in Power Electronics Engineering (required)
- Minimum of 8 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of Industry
- Experience in Transportaion domain of Aerospace and defense and/or Rail, Electric vehicle in Inversion Conversion, Battery charger/Management system applications
- Expertise in various SMPS topologies like Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, Flyback, Forward, Half and Full bridge converter, Power device like MOSFETS, IGBT, SiC etc and EMI/EMC filter
- Proficiency in designing the compact products for optimized SWaP-C (Size, weight, Power and cost)
- Experience in magnetic design is added advantage.
- Experience in Simulation (p-Spice and LTspice), analysis, modeling as part of design and development
- Proficiency in designing the products complying with EMI/EMC standards for high volume products
- Complete knowhow in development of printed circuit board assemblies, thermal management, heat sink design, interactions of enclosures
- Proficiency in designing protection circuits, reliability, and manufacturability aspect
- Experience in developing the Products complying with industry standards and regulations in Transportation domain, commercial aerospace preferred.
- Experience handling the projects of DO-254 and DO-160G or equivalent guidelines/standards
