Job Description
Role & responsibilities
We are seeking innovative Design engineers with a strong interest in machine and automation design, as well as a solid understanding of GD&T, machine design, SPM design, robotics, and AGVs.
- Produces manufacturing equipment and tooling designs that are feasible and economical to produce.
- Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks, inventor)
- Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs.
- Using CAD or AutoCAD to analyze the existing tooling, equipment designs and improve on them.
- Provides alternative design solutions, analysis, justification, and recommendations at the concept stage.
- Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.
- Sketches rough layouts and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, clearances, tolerances, and location of holes, etc.
- Reviews manufacturing equipment and tooling design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Provides support and contributes to manufacturing performance and customer service by assisting in the solution of production or quality problems associated with design.
- Ensures equipment and tooling designs meet HHG requirements.
- Prepares interim and completion project reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, and actuators to build robust automation solutions.
Preferred candidate profile
Strong CAD Design Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar for 2D/3D design.
- Ability to create layouts, assembly drawings, and detailed part designs.
