Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Solar PV Hyderabad
Full-time
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer with extensive experience in the design and implementation of solar photovoltaic power plants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering with focus on renewable energy projects. Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and engineering efforts for solar photovoltaic power plant projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards, industry best practices, and project requirements.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine optimal locations for solar power plant installations, considering factors such as solar irradiance, terrain, shading, and environmental impact.
- Develop detailed system designs, including solar array layouts, electrical schematics, equipment specifications, and structural designs, to maximize energy production and efficiency.
- Perform electrical engineering calculations and simulations to optimize system performance, voltage levels, power distribution, and protection coordination.
- Select appropriate solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, and other components based on performance, reliability, cost, and compatibility with project requirements.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental specialists, and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports, to support project planning, permitting, and construction activities.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure that designs meet quality standards, performance requirements, and customer expectations.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in solar technology, materials, and design techniques, and incorporate innovative solutions to enhance project performance and competitiveness.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Discussion and Coordination with Lender's /Owner's independent Engineer. EPC contractor for finalization of generation nos., PR, P50, P75 & P90 probability nos.
- Preparation of Bill of Material with various options.
- Sound knowledge about IS & IEC standards.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EEE) or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in the design and engineering of solar photovoltaic power plants or renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency in solar photovoltaic system design software (e.g., PVsyst) and electrical engineering software (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, power systems analysis, and solar energy technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross- functional teams and stakeholders.
