Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Analyst to support our commercial interior projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tracking project costs, analyzing budgets, providing cost estimates, and helping to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. This role plays a key part in financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for high-end interior build-outs and renovations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project budgets and track actual costs against estimates
- Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and procurement teams to ensure accurate cost reporting
- Develop and maintain detailed cost breakdowns and reports for each phase of interior construction projects
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing to ensure competitive and accurate cost forecasting
- Assist with value engineering to reduce costs without sacrificing quality
- Review project change orders and assess financial impact
- Monitor financial progress and alert management to potential cost overruns
- Support in the preparation of client bids, proposals, and financial documentation
- Conduct post-project cost analysis to inform future project planning and pricing strategies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, labour costs, and material pricing relevant to commercial interiors
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in cost analysis, estimating, or financial planning (preferably in the construction or interior design industry)
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Attention to detail and a proactive problem-solver
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with commercial interior fit-outs, tenant improvements, or high-end renovations
- Knowledge of construction contracts, project lifecycle, and procurement processes
Familiarity with billing and construction accounting principles
