Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

Baking and Product Preparation:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of high-quality products, including breads, pastries, cakes, and other bakery items, according to Loperas recipes and standards.
  • Ensure that products are baked to perfection, meeting both taste and aesthetic standards.
  • Monitor and adjust baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent results.

Inventory and Ingredient Management:

  • Ensure that ingredients are correctly stored and handled to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Assist in inventory management by tracking stock levels, rotating ingredients, and ensuring timely orders for supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.

Quality Control:

  • Maintain consistency and high-quality standards in all bakery products.
  • Perform regular quality checks to ensure that each batch meets Loperas quality criteria, including flavor, texture, and appearance.

Team Leadership and Training:

  • Oversee and mentor junior bakers and kitchen assistants, ensuring that tasks are delegated efficiently and training is provided when necessary.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, helping to develop the skills of less experienced team members.

Recipe and Menu Development:

  • Assist in the creation of new recipes and products, contributing creative ideas for seasonal items and special offerings.

Health, Safety, and Cleanliness:

  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed in the bakery, including cleanliness, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
  • Regularly clean and maintain equipment and workstations to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional bakery or kitchen environment, preferably in a supervisory or senior role.
  • A strong background in preparing a variety of bakery products such as breads and viennoiseries.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep knowledge of baking techniques and pastry production, including dough making, proofing, and baking methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality, consistent products.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to train and guide junior staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
