- Role Description Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Tester to join our SIT/Scrum team, playing a vital role in ensuring software quality across a range of IT applications. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of testing complex applications and will be responsible for functional testing activities, ensuring applications work as expected, and reporting issues through appropriate channels. Key Responsibilities Understand project requirements and create key test deliverables, including test strategies, plans, scripts, scenarios, and test data. Actively participate in requirement review and grooming sessions, providing valuable feedback. Conduct test estimation, scheduling, requirements traceability, execution, and report results to various stakeholders. Identify regression testing scope and coverage, manage defect identification and reporting, and ensure resolution. Adhere to Agile methodology, testing standards, and best practices. Establish and maintain close working relationships with internal and external teams, including business users. Perform all job responsibilities independently while maintaining a collaborative team environment. Skills, Knowledge, And Experience Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. ISEB/IQSTB Qualified (Foundation level or higher) and/or AWS Practitioner Certified and/or Agile Certified preferred. Minimum 5 years of formal testing experience in a structured environment. Experience testing web-based applications, web services, and APIs. Strong SQL skills to query relational databases (DB2, MSSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB. Mainframe testing experience and understanding is highly recommended. At least 1 year of experience in a Linux environment. Basic understanding of Python, with the ability to analyze and understand Python scripts. Experience working in a formal Agile environment, focusing on user stories and structured testing and release methods. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent time management skills and ability to work to deadlines. Team player with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Desirable Mainframe Batch testing experience is highly desirable. Exposure to test automation tools and principles (e.g., Selenium, BDD) with the ability to maintain and manage Selenium/Cucumber Java-based functional test automation scripts for UI/API.
