Job Description

    Key Responsibilities: Preparation of Indian Dishes: Prepare and cook Indian dishes to the highest quality, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion size. Specialize in preparing traditional Indian curries, tandoori dishes, biryanis, breads (like naan), and other regional specialties. Station Management: Oversee a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., curry, tandoor, or starters) and manage its operations. Ensure all ingredients and equipment are stocked and ready for service. Monitor the quality of food produced and ensure food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to. Team Collaboration and Supervision: Work closely with other chefs in the kitchen to ensure smooth operations. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, assisting with their development. Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory for spices, herbs, and other Indian cuisine-specific ingredients. Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients, keeping the kitchen well-stocked. Menu Development: Contribute to menu planning and the development of new Indian dishes or seasonal offerings. Provide feedback on menu performance, suggesting adjustments or improvements based on customer feedback. Quality Control: Monitor the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring they meet the restaurants standards. Ensure the final product reflects traditional Indian culinary techniques. Health & Safety: Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen. Follow safety guidelines for the use of kitchen equipment, knives, and hot surfaces. Comply with food safety regulations and ensure that food handling and preparation follow hygiene standards. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as a DCDP or Commi 1 in a similar role, specifically in Indian cuisine. Strong knowledge of Indian spices, herbs, and cooking techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Good understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene protocols. Leadership skills with the ability to manage a section of the kitchen. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively. Creativity and innovation in presenting Indian dishes. Preferred Qualifications: Culinary diploma or equivalent certification. Experience in high-end or traditional Indian restaurants. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of Indian cuisine in a professional kitchen, ensuring the delivery of flavorful and authentic dishes while contributing to the smooth running of kitchen operations,
