Job Description

Department: Export Business Division

Location: Delhi

Reports To: HOD

Global Exports Business Travel Required: Based on Business Exigency (Up to 30%-40%)


Job Summary

The Sales Manager - Exports for the SAARC & South East Asia region (RoW) will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen Hamdards presence across target countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia. The role entails identifying business opportunities, managing distributor/partner relationships, channel partners in individual markets, and meeting sales targets across a multi-country territory.


Key Responsibilities


Market Development

  • Develop and implement export sales specific to the SAARC & South East Asia region.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new markets, partners, and business channels.
  • Conduct market analysis (Primary & Secondary Research), competition mapping, and consumer pricing.
  • Lead market entry for new product launches and territories.

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned region.
  • Manage and grow sales through existing distributor and channel partner network.
  • Negotiate trade pricing, trade schemes, contracts, and annual sales plans with distributors and key accounts.
  • Monitor sell-in and sell-out data to track market performance and take corrective actions.

Channel Partner Management

  • Identify, appoint, and onboard new distributors or importers in untapped countries.
  • Develop strong relationships with regional channel partners & chain retailers.
  • Regularly review distributor performance and conduct business review meetings online (BRMs).
  • Provide virtual training and support to distributor to ensure alignment with brand standards and company policies.

Export Operations & Compliance

  • Coordinate with the export documentation, logistics for timely dispatch and order fulfilment.
  • Ensure adherence to international trade compliance, local regulations, and import/export documentation requirements.

Marketing Support & Brand Building

  • Strategize Business/SBU Head and collaborate with marketing team on such approved marketing strategy to implement region-specific marketing campaigns and BTL and/or ATL activities.
  • Provide insights and feedback to the SBU Head, NPD Team and marketing team on regional consumer preferences.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Maintain detailed sales reports, forecasts, and KPIs as aligned and approved by Business Head.
  • Track receivables and ensure timely payment collection from partners as per payment term.
  • Report on market trends, competitor movements, and regulatory updates SBU Head.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Regional sales target achievement
  • Number of new distributor/channel appointments
  • Brand wise sales growth in key countries
  • On-time order knowing TAT
  • Brand visibility and activation metrics as aligned and within budget

Qualifications & Experience


Education:

  • Bachelors/ Masters Degree in Pharmacy/ Masters Degree in Science.
  • MBA/PGDM in International Business or Marketing preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8-12 years of proven experience in export sales, preferably in pharmaceuticals OTC, consumer health products, cosmetics, or allied consumer products.
  • Strong understanding of SAARC & Southeast Asian markets Distributors, culture, and trade channel environments.
  • Experience in working with international distributors and managing all facets of export sales operations.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical, creative and strategic thinking abilities
  • Good public presentation skill
  • Knowledge of Incoterms & basics on export documents
  • Ability to manage cross-cultural teams
  • Proficiency in MS Office & knowledge of using AI tools will be added advantage
  • Self-motivated, result-driven, and resilient under pressure

Preferred Languages

  • English (at professional level mandatory Speak Read - Write)
