Job Description

1. Location:

Travel:100%

Location Indicate the primary location for this position. Also indicate if travel is required and how often the candidate would be required to travel and to where.

2. Purpose of Position:

Perform installation, repair and maintenance tasks on equipment and infrastructure at customer/partner sites primarily the retail fuel outlet. Flexibility is required to address customer needs, identify the problem at site and ensure timely completion of the Job in a safe and secure manner.

Gilbarco Veeder-Root (GVR) requires that all associates comply with the GVR Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy as well as the Vontier Standards of Conduct.

3. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all activities are carried out safely in accordance with all relevant country specific Health & Safety legislation and Gilbarco Veeder Root HSE policy/procedures.
  • The associate is personally responsible for contributing to a safe working environment by maintaining an orderly work area and proactively raising safety concerns.
  • Ensure that all training and qualifications necessary to perform work tasks are identified in a timely manner and that no activities are undertaken without suitable competence.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance jobs as per schedule.
  • Carry out breakdown jobs assigned by the ASM.
  • Update spares requirement to ASM.
  • Collect the spares from courier office / Service centre and resolve the complaint immediately on receipt of spares. PDS Field Engineer 2
  • Ensure resolution of complaints in the 1st visit itself.
  • Return defective spares to stores within 7 days of closure of complaint.
  • Return unused ok spares immediately to the stores department.
  • Provide feedback to the CSD immediately after closure of complaint.
  • Submit all Breakdown service reports to ASM/Stores and Preventive maintenance reports to Commercial Executive on a weekly basis.
  • Report non-compliance issues if found being practices in the system to supervisor or use Speak up opportunity provided by the company.

Examples:

  • Act as the technical project manager with overall responsibility for the management, performance and completion of one major or several smaller projects.
  • Generate the project scope statement from the preliminary requirements document.
  • Use project deliverables to develop the work breakdown structure and network diagram that then drive the detailed activity/task list.
  • Responsible for obtaining accurate time and cost estimates, then managing the project to schedule and budget.
  • Actively manage the projects critical path
  • Perform a project risk assessment and recommend key experiments and/or simulation and predictive tools to mitigate areas of high potential risk.
  • Use structured problem solving methodologies to identify root cause. Offer conceptual solutions and work closely with the product development team to turn concepts into commercialized products.
  • Provide leadership to the project team and work with team members to achieve common objectives.
  • Prepare and present project milestone documents to the Engineering Milestone Review Committee. Work with team members to ensure accurate completion of engineering, marketing, and factory documents.
  • Develop communication documents, presentations, and dashboards for communicating the project status, health, etc to the leadership and marketing team
  • Drive the creation of technical specifications, design specifications, and system validation plans to meet the project deliverables.
  • Provide leadership in meeting the customer and regulatory requirements with designs that have sustainable differentiation for minimal overall cost.

4. Relationships

  • Reports to: Area Service Manager (ASM) / Area Service Controller (ASC)

  • Report directly to the Product Development Manager of Pumping and Containment.
  • Works directly with the new product development team consisting of design engineers, designers, technicians, supply chain, operations, and test engineers.
  • Collaborate globally with other company divisions and partners to leverage expertise and core competencies into new product platforms to achieve project deliverables.

5. Education & Experience:

  • Total Experience in years: Previous experience in field based technical service work. Experienced in mechanical, electrical, and electronic fault-finding techniques.
  • Graduation/ Degree: Diploma in Electronics/Electrical /Mechanical Engineering. with good knowledge of working on Computers

6. Background and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills in applicable local language. Basic knowledge of English Computer literacy
