Job Description
- Software Engineering Manager (Data) BBY India is seeking seven Software Engineering Managers (Data) to play a key role in shaping Best Buys Business Data Domain team. You will work with Product Managers, User Experience Designers, Architects, and other team members to modernize and build products that align to the product teams vision and strategy. The engineering of these products will leverage multi-cloud platforms, human centered design, Agile and DevOps principles to deliver industry leading solutions at high velocity with unrivaled quality. You will build and maintain a team of talented software engineering professionals, mentoring and fostering their professional growth. All of this will be done by embracing inclusive leadership behaviors, working through ambiguity, demonstrating a strong attention to detail, and thriving in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Lead one team responsible for a product capability Lead the delivery of complex solutions, and participate in the creation and presentation of technical designs Participate in production support along with their team Actively participate in planning, and performing code and architecture reviews of their teams product Ensure the quality and integrity of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices. Manage individual performance through regular 1:1s, coaching, mentoring, and encouragement of development plans Partner with product owner to ensure requirements are clearly defined Lead effort to turn requirements into technical specifications Set project schedule along with product owner Provide technical leadership on the product and determines technical approach Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager Set the teams objectives and key results in collaboration with Product and Experience Design (XD) partners Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buys continued success Set tactical team goals in service of larger organizational strategic goals Basic Qualifications 6+ years of relevant technical professional experience with a bachelors degree OR equivalent professional experience. Including: 3+ years of hands-on designing data lakes and reviewing code to comply with design 3+ years of experience in tuning data model for performance and data quality 3+ years of hands-on knowledge on multiple programming languages 2+ years of experience with cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) 1+ years of practitioner level knowledge of large-scale data warehouse and BI tools migration to Google Cloud data lake Qualifications Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends Proactive in learning new skills and sharing knowledge with the team Ability to balance technical considerations with business requirements,
