Job Description
Role Summary:
The Assistant Manager -Payroll at IGT Solutions will lead and manage end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and delivering timely, accurate payroll for the organization. This role requires deep expertise in payroll, accounting, and team management, with a strong emphasis on financial reporting, audit support, and cross-functional coordination.

- Reporting To: Senior Leadership in Finance
Key Focus Areas:
Payroll Operations & Compliance
- Lead monthly payroll processing ensuring accuracy and timely closures.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and all statutory payroll regulations.
- Update internal systems based on legislative changes and policy updates.
- Maintain precise employee payroll records including time, attendance, benefits, and tax details.
Financial Reporting & Controls
- Prepare and analyze payroll-related MIS reports.
- Support monthly financial reviews and audits (internal & statutory).
- Ensure timely journal entries, accruals, and provisions for payroll expenses.
- Review vendor ledgers and authorize payroll-related payments accurately.
Team Management & Coordination
- Lead and mentor a small payroll team with a focus on performance and accountability.
- Conduct daily huddles, guide direct reports, and manage performance through coaching and feedback.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline and enhance payroll workflows.
Audit & Governance
- Provide necessary data and documentation for audits.
- Implement audit recommendations and internal controls to ensure strong governance.
- Ensure robust variance analysis of payroll expenses vs. budget with actionable insights.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
- Experience: 7+ years of payroll/accounting experience with a proven leadership track record.
- Payroll Expertise: In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, compliance laws, and statutory reporting.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Tools & Systems: Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and ERP systems.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
