Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Windows Administration:
Manage and maintain Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Perform system upgrades, patches, and security updates.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system efficiency.
Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with company policies.
VMware Administration:
Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments.
Perform VM provisioning, cloning, snapshots, and resource allocation.
Monitor virtual infrastructure health and troubleshoot performance issues.
Manage storage, networking, and high availability (HA/DRS) configurations.
Backup & Disaster Recovery:
Implement and manage backup solutions such as Data Protector , Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, or Acronis.
Perform regular backup testing and disaster recovery drills.
Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure data integrity.
Develop and maintain backup policies and recovery plans.
Citrix infra Project Management Skills:
Project Planning & Scheduling Creating project timelines, defining milestones, and ensuring deliverables are met.
Budgeting & Cost Control Managing project budgets, forecasting costs, and preventing overruns.
Risk Management Identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and handling uncertainties.
Agile & Waterfall Methodologies Understanding and implementing different project management approaches (Scrum, Kanban, PMP, etc.).
Resource Management Allocating people, tools, and resources effectively.
Project Tracking & Reporting Using tools like MS Project, Jira, Trello, or Asana to monitor progress.
Leadership & Team Management:
Team Building Motivating and developing high-performing teams. Decision-Making Making data-driven and strategic decisions under pressure.
Conflict Resolution Managing disagreements and ensuring smooth collaboration.
Stakeholder Management Engaging with clients, executives, and team members effectively.
Communication & Soft Skills:
Effective Communication Clearly conveying project goals, updates, and expectations. Negotiation Skills Managing contracts, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
Problem-Solving Quickly identifying and resolving issues before they escalate.
Adaptability Adjusting to changes in project scope, technology, and team dynamics. Technical Skills (Industry-Specific):
Project Management Software MS Project, Jira, Monday.com, or Trello.
Reporting & Analytics Excel, Power BI, or Tableau for data-driven decisionmaking.
Cloud & IT Knowledge Familiarity with SaaS, cybersecurity, or DevOps (for IT projects).
Compliance & Quality Management Ensuring projects align with industry standards (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.).
Certifications (Highly Valued):
PMP (Project Management Professional) Gold standard in project management.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) For Agile project management.
PRINCE2 Structured approach for managing projects.
Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Agile methodology expertise.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Experience: 12+ years in Windows Server and VMware administration, with handson experience in backup management.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, PowerShell scripting, and system security.
Experience with SAN/NAS storage solutions and virtualization networking.
Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VCP (VMware Certified Professional), or Veeam/Commvault certifications are a plus.
