Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Research & Analysis
- Conduct in-depth fundamental and technical analysis of listed companies across multiple sectors.
- Track and analyze macro and microeconomic indicators, industry trends, and corporate developments.
- Monitor stock price movements, financial news, and events that affect the stock market.
Financial Modeling & Valuation
- Build and maintain financial models using tools like Excel.
- Perform company valuations using DCF, P/E, EV/EBITDA, and other methods.
- Forecast earnings and analyze company performance for investment decision-making.
Report Preparation
- Prepare daily/weekly market outlooks, company reports, earnings summaries, and stock recommendations.
- Deliver well-structured research notes and actionable insights to support internal teams and clients.
Investment Strategy Support
- Work with the advisory or product teams to help design investment strategies based on research findings.
- Generate stock screeners, watchlists, and thematic research ideas for short and long-term investments.
Technical Research (Optional/Preferred)
- Analyze charts, indicators, and patterns using platforms like TradingView or MetaTrader.
- Provide technical calls for intraday and positional trading strategies.
Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate with tech teams, content creators, and advisors to ensure research is accurately represented across platforms.
- Present research findings in team meetings and client presentations when needed.
Tools & Platforms
- Work with tools such as Excel, TradingView, Screener.in, Moneycontrol, TIKR, and others.
- Ensure data accuracy and reliability by cross-verifying multiple sources.
Bonus Responsibilities (Optional Based on Interest):
- Assist in content development for educational blogs, webinars, and courses.
- Provide market insights for internal dashboard features or fintech products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth equity research across various sectors (e.g., BFSI, IT, FMCG).
- Perform fundamental and technical analysis of listed companies.
- Track market trends, macroeconomic indicators, and company earnings.
- Prepare detailed research reports, investment insights, and daily/weekly market updates.
- Build and maintain financial models and assist in valuation of stocks.
- Collaborate with investment, advisory, or trading teams to support decision-making.
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience: 2-3 years in share market/equity research, preferably in a brokerage, investment advisory, or financial services firm
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related field; MBA (Finance) is a plus
- Certifications: NISM Research Analyst (mandatory or preferred), CFA Level I/II (preferred)
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Excel (financial modeling, data analysis)
- Comfortable with tools like TradingView, Screener.in, Moneycontrol, etc.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar platforms (preferred)
- Research Abilities:
- Solid understanding of fundamental and technical analysis
- Capable of preparing detailed equity reports and stock recommendations
- Exposure to sector analysis and valuation techniques (DCF, PE, etc.)
- Communication:
- Strong report writing and analytical presentation skills
- Good command over English (written and spoken)
- Work Ethic:
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive
- Passion for the stock market and staying updated with market news and trends
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
