Position Overview:
We are seeking a UI/UX Designer for our Mumbai office who can transform complex logistics workflows into intuitive, user-friendly experiences while ensuring that the user journey aligns seamlessly with real-world freight operations. As a UI/UX Designer, you will work closely with product managers, developers, and business analysts to create seamless user experiences for our platform. Your role will involve understanding logistics workflows, designing intuitive dashboards, improving usability, and enhancing the overall user experience. A critical part of this role is ensuring that the end-to-end user journey aligns with how freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics teams operate. The system should guide users logically from one step to the next, reducing friction, automating repetitive tasks, and making freight operations more efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
1. UI/UX Design Research
- Conduct user research to understand how freight forwarders interact with booking, tracking, and customs clearance.
- Analyze complex workflows (e.g., shipment tracking process) and convert them into intuitive, user-friendly designs.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI designs to simplify navigation, reduce errors.
- Ensure consistency in UI elements across web and mobile platforms to maintain a smooth user experience.
2. User Journey Experience Alignment
- Ensure that the end-to-end user journey aligns with business workflows, minimizing manual effort and reducing complexity.
- Optimize workflow efficiency by reducing unnecessary steps, ensuring logical flow, and improving system responsiveness.
- Conduct user journey mapping to identify bottlenecks, such as delays in document approvals, and improve them.
- Implement designs that enhance task automation, data visualization, and decision-making.
3. Product Design Usability
- Create interactive and visually appealing dashboards that provide real-time shipment status and financial insights.
- Optimize data-heavy screens (e.g., bill of lading, invoices) for better readability and faster user actions.
- Simplify complex workflows like multi-leg shipment tracking to enhance efficiency.
- Design responsive, mobile-friendly interfaces for logistics teams handling operations on-the- go.
4. Collaboration Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
- Gather feedback from users (e.g., freight forwarders) to refine the UX.
- Collaborate with product managers and business analysts to align designs with business goals.
5. Prototyping Testing
- Conduct A/B testing and usability tests to validate design decisions, e.g., comparing two layouts for an order booking page.
- Identify UX pain points, such as difficulty in filtering shipment statuses, and propose solutions based on user behaviour data.
- Continuously improve the design based on real-world usage feedback from logistics professionals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design (preferably for B2B SaaS or enterprise software).
- Strong proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar design tools.
- Experience designing for data-intensive applications (e.g., logistics dashboards, reports).
- Solid understanding of UX best practices, design systems, and accessibility guidelines.
- Ability to translate complex workflows into simple, user-friendly UI.
- Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain software (preferred).
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (not mandatory but a plus).
- Experience working in Agile product teams.
- Familiarity with designing for ERP systems or other enterprise software.
