Job Description
Job Title: Embedded Engineering Manager
Location: Gurgaon work from office
Reports To: [Director of Engineering / VP of Engineering]
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Embedded Engineering Manager to lead our team of embedded and hardware systems engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems development, hardware design and development process, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovative solutions. This role involves overseeing the development of embedded software and hardware solutions, managing project timelines, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of embedded systems engineers and hardware engineers.
- Provide guidance on technical issues, career development, and performance management.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of embedded systems projects.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in embedded systems design and development.
- Review and approve engineering designs, code, and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including product managers, senior management, and external partners.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively.
Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: 8+ years of experience in embedded systems development, with exposure to managerial or leadership role.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in embedded systems programming languages (e.g., C/C++, assembly) on various microcontrollers and microprocessor families.
- Experience with hardware design and interfacing (e.g., microcontrollers, sensors, actuators).
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and development tools.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
Leadership Skills:
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills:
- Experience in automotive, telecommunications or industrial IoT is a plus.
- Knowledge of product certifications like FCC, UL etc. is a plus.
