Platform Engineer (AWS MKS & Kubernetes)
Experience: 5-8 years
Location: Hyderabad
Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Platform Engineer to help us build and deploy a robust, scalable data streaming platform leveraging AWS Kubernetes Service (MKS). You will be instrumental in migrating data-intensive workloads from AWS EMR to the new MKS-based platform. This role requires expertise in Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS MKS, and EMR to ensure high performance, reliability, and security.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, develop, and maintain a scalable streaming data platform using AWS MKS.
- Help to migrate existing data workloads from AWS EMR to the new MKS platform.
- Manage and optimize MKS clusters ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain containerized applications using Kubernetes.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for the platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design optimal solutions.
- Develop automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines for seamless platform deployments and updates.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analyses.
- Document platform architecture, deployment strategies, and maintenance procedures.
Required Skills:
- experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or related roles.
- Strong experience with AWS MKS, AWS EMR, and related cloud-native services.
- Extensive experience deploying and managing containerized workloads using Kubernetes.
- Proven expertise with Apache Kafka.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD tools and processes (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Excellent scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch.
Good to have Skills:
- Familiarity with additional AWS services like AWS Lambda, CloudTrail, IAM, and Cloud Security.
- Knowledge of data engineering practices, big data technologies, and streaming architectures.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of Kafka and Kubernetes clusters.
