Project Overview:
You will be part of a high-availability infrastructure operations team supporting a global semiconductor project. The environment includes Linux-based systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) integrated with NetApp Storage and AWS cloud components. The primary focus is implementation, support, enhancement, upgrades, and troubleshooting of the Linux infrastructure, with growing exposure to automation and cloud-native practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform L1 to L3 level Linux system administration tasks on RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu servers.
Support, and maintain Linux systems in a 24/7 production environment.
Lead server provisioning using Kickstart automation.
Manage and troubleshoot NFS servers, autofs/automount, and ensure persistent mount configurations.
Support LDAP and SSSD configurations for centralized authentication and access control.
Configure NTP services and understand differences in RH7 vs RH8 time synchronization architecture.
Set up and secure SSHD with configuration of custom parameters (e.g., PermitRootLogin, MaxAuthTries).
Assist with managing Red Hat Satellite Server for patching and system lifecycle management.
Write and modify Bash scripts for automating routine tasks and log parsing.
Work with Ansible to understand, execute, and modify basic playbooks for configuration management.
Support Flexlm License Servers user management, logs, usage reports (basic exposure sufficient).
Exposure to ETX (Enterprise Tools) is an added advantage but not mandatory.
Log incidents, maintain SOPs/runbooks, and escalate issues as per SLA.
Required Skills:
Creating the SOPs, identifying the gaps in the existing environment and leading the documentation initiatives from the technical point of view.
Expertise hands-on with Linux administration (RHEL 7/8, CentOS, Ubuntu).
Experience in system provisioning using Kickstart and managing file systems.
Familiarity with LDAP, SSSD, NFS, and system services such as NTP, SSHD.
Knowledge of Red Hat Satellite Server (overview and use cases).
Hands-on experience AWS (EC2, IAM, S3, CloudWatch).
Hands-on with Bash scripting automation of basic administrative tasks.
Exposure to Ansible playbooks and YAML syntax for routine system configuration tasks.
Familiarity with license management tools such as Flexlm or anything equivalent.
Willingness to work in 24/7 rotational shifts and respond to tickets and alerts on time.
Good communication skills and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) preferred
Good to Have:
Exposure to ETX infrastructure management platform.
Experience working with NetApp storage systems is a plus.
