We are seeking an experienced AIX Administrator with a strong background in DPLAR and VOIS to manage, maintain, and optimize AIX-based systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AIX infrastructure, troubleshooting, system security, and automation, ensuring high availability and performance of mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain AIX operating systems and servers.
Manage DPLAR (Disaster Prevention, Logging, and Recovery) processes to ensure system resilience.
Work with VOIS (Vodafone Intelligent Solutions) environments , handling configurations and optimizations.
Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure.
Apply security patches, OS updates, and system upgrades.
Troubleshoot system issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business applications.
Manage user access, roles, and security policies.
Perform disaster recovery testing and backup management.
Automate repetitive administrative tasks using shell scripting and tools.
Required Skills Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in AIX system administration .
Strong knowledge of DPLAR and VOIS methodologies.
Experience in LPAR/DLPAR/VIO setup and management.
Proficiency in PowerVM, PowerHA (HACMP), and NIM (Network Installation Manager) .
Understanding of SAN storage , backup solutions , and system performance tuning.
Experience in automation and scripting ( Shell, Ansible, Python preferred).
Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident/change management.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator AIX .
Experience with cloud-based AIX solutions (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure).
Exposure to DevOps methodologies and automation frameworks.
