Role & responsibilities We are seeking a detail-oriented Analyst to join our Procurement Intelligence team, focusing on supplier outreach, spend analysis, and strategic sourcing research. The role requires 1- 3 years of experience in primary research, supplier intelligence, and procurement analytics. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, data interpretation abilities, and a good understanding of compliance standards. This position combines cold calling, supplier verification, spend data categorization, and support for procurement transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supplier Intelligence:
Support longlisting and shortlisting of suppliers using desk research and outreach.
Conduct supplier verification by assessing product fit, technical capabilities, volume capacity, and export readiness.
Collect samples, catalogues, and quotations to support sourcing decisions.
Generate insights on supplier competitiveness, market availability, and sourcing feasibility.
2. Primary Research & Cold Calling:Conduct cold calls globally to collect non-proprietary data from suppliers.
Identify capabilities, gather quotations, confirm contact details, and manage RFx communication.
Comply with internal policies, avoiding proprietary data collection and activities like mystery shopping.
3. Survey Requests & Coordination:
Support client requests involving supplier surveys, especially for sourcing or market insights.
Ensure sanitized questionnaires are used and respondent numbers stay within internal thresholds unless approvals are obtained.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders for survey approvals, timelines, and compliance protocols.
Analyze survey responses and summarize insights for category strategy development or supplier benchmarking.
4. Procurement Intelligence:
Contribute to supply market assessments and low-cost country sourcing analysis.
Support supplier innovation and price benchmarking.
Participate in ESG due diligence, risk profiling, and supply chain monitoring.
Provide category updates and help track commodity prices and tariffs. 5. Spend Intelligence & Data Management:
Perform vendor normalization and taxonomy creation aligned with standards like UNSPSC, SIC, or NAICS.
Categorize direct, indirect, and MRO spend data.
Use tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx for visualization and insights will be a plus.
Preferred candidate profile
1-2 years of experience in supplier outreach, procurement research, surveys and spend analytics
. Familiarity with sourcing and procurement tools, supplier benchmarking, and taxonomy frameworks. Strong communication skills; able to draft clear, compliant emails and conduct professional calls.
Proficiency in Excel and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau); Alteryx knowledge is a plus
. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and maintain high accuracy under tight deadlines
