Job Description

Job Title: GM / DGM / Sr. Manager Business Development, Marketing & Tendering (Power T&D / Solar)

Location: [Hyderabad / PAN India based on project sites]

Experience: 14 to 15 years

Industry: Power Projects (T&D) / Renewable Energy (Solar EPC)

Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
(MBA in Marketing/Operations is a plus)


Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional with strong expertise in business development, marketing strategy, and tendering processes within Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and Solar/Renewable Energy projects. The candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, leading the bidding process, and ensuring sustainable revenue growth.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Marketing:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in T&D and solar project sectors (government & private).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, EPC contractors, consultants, and government authorities.
  • Understand industry trends and develop strategic market intelligence.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, client meetings, exhibitions, and pre-bid discussions.

Tendering & Bidding:

  • End-to-end management of tendering and bidding for EPC contracts in electrical/civil/mechanical domains.
  • Analyze tender documents, scope of work, BOQs, drawings, technical specifications, and commercial terms.
  • Coordinate with design, estimation, procurement, legal, and finance teams for tender preparation.
  • Lead pre-bid meetings and RFI responses, ensuring competitive and compliant bids are submitted on time.
  • Develop costing sheets, risk analysis, price strategies, and profit margin assessments.

Strategy & Reporting:

  • Prepare business proposals, sales forecasts, and project profitability analysis.
  • Monitor competitor activities and develop counter-strategies.
  • Regular reporting to senior leadership on pipeline development and success ratios.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong domain knowledge in power T&D, solar EPC, and infra project cycles.
  • In-depth experience in business acquisition, techno-commercial bid preparation, and client negotiations.
  • Knowledge of government procurement/tendering platforms (e.g., GEM, SECI, NTPC, PGCIL, state utilities).
  • Strong commercial acumen with understanding of contractual terms and financial evaluation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD (basic understanding), and CRM tools.
