Position OverviewThis role provides counsel and advice to management on significant Infrastructure matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. Serves as the Tableau Software Engineer. Key responsibilities include
Installation, migration, configuration, maintenance, technical support and troubleshooting of Tableau Desktop, Prep, and ServerResponsible for Alteryx Administration and Server maintenance/upgrades/patches and Installation.Provide 24/7 on call support.Provide off-hours and weekend support in an on-call rotation.Section 3ResponsibilitiesClearly outline the primary duties and tasks associated with the role. Use action verbs (i.e., lead, drive, analyze, assess, research, etc.) to convey expectations.
ResponsibilitiesBuild and Monitor server usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements for BI Applications (Administrative Views for Tableau, Server Usage Report)Expertise on AWS and Azure Coud and related technologiesExpertise on CI/CD process using Jenkins/UDeploy/GitExpertise on IDE (Integrated Development Environment)Performance tuning and Server management of tableau server environment (clustering, Load balancing).Work with Business Teams for managing user and group permissions, Workbooks and Projects, Database Views, Data Sources and Data ConnectionsWorking knowledge with Tableau ExtensionsExpertise on various database drivers (DBX, ODBC, JDBC)Working knowledge on Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server, etc.Manage and support migration of objects (reports, workbooks, dashboards), from development to production environments.Provide appropriate training and support to business users on the use of Tableau interactive web reports, and Site ManagementAssist in the identification and migration of data sources to Tableau serverDocument best practices for development and administration of the Tableau platformContribute to architecture and capacity planning activitiesRequired to monitor/Handle Tableau and Alteryx services during windows servers maintenanceConfigure/Optimize Servers settings. Apply trace logs on servers in case of troubleshooting complex incidentsTroubleshooting dashboards issues, system slowness. Create ODBC, OLE connections for SQL DB servers and Implement Firewall rules on Business Intelligence processing servers.Linux or UNIX server setup, deployment, and maintenanceSection 4QualificationsSpecify the skills, experience, and education required for the role.
