Job Description:
What does a successful Splunk Monitoring Expert do?
- Develops and manages complex dashboards in Splunk to provide deep insights into system performance and health.
- Utilizes advanced regex to create precise and effective search queries and data extraction.
- Configures alerting mechanisms to promptly identify and address issues flagged by Splunk.
- Implements IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) to enhance monitoring capabilities and provide actionable insights.
- Sets up frameworks for KPI-based monitoring to track and improve key performance indicators.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate Splunk monitoring with other IT systems and processes.
- Monitors and reports on performance metrics and KPIs, driving continuous improvement in monitoring practices.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on Splunk, providing guidance and training to team members.
What you will do:
- Design and deploy complex dashboards in Splunk to ensure comprehensive visibility into system performance.
- Utilize advanced regex to create effective search queries and data extraction methods.
- Configure and optimize alerting mechanisms to ensure timely detection and resolution of issues.
- Develop and implement ITSI strategies to enhance monitoring capabilities and provide actionable insights.
- Set up and manage frameworks for KPI-based monitoring to track and improve key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Splunk monitoring with other tools and processes.
- Analyze monitoring data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Provide training and support to team members on Splunk best practices and usage.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience working in an enterprise environment, with a strong focus on monitoring and performance management.
- Proven experience with Splunk and other monitoring tools.
- Strong understanding of regex and its application in search queries and data extraction.
- Expertise in configuring alerting mechanisms and ITSI solutions.
- Experience in setting up frameworks for KPI-based monitoring.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
What would be great to have: (Optional)
- Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with AI and ML applications within monitoring and performance management.
- Scripting skills in Python or other languages to automate monitoring tasks.
- Experience with other monitoring tools for analyzing impacts on service performance.
