About E&S Team
This shift has bought about an increased requirement of digital assets, infrastructure, upskilling of teachers and content. With the requirement of tech-enabled learning solutions to only accelerate further, the Government is laying down new frameworks and adopting an even more holistic and futuristic approach towards education and skill development. The education and skill development practice of KPMG in India comprises a team of experienced professionals delivering forward-looking advisory services across the spectrum, such as K-12 education including Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), foundational literacy and numeracy skills, Technical and Vocational Education, and Training (TVET), higher education, education technology, and supplementary education.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Consultant to lead and support initiatives in the Rural Startup and Enterprise Development Ecosystem. This role is critical in shaping sustainable, scalable, and innovative rural enterprises that drive inclusive economic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement strategies to strengthen rural startup ecosystems
- Provide advisory support to rural entrepreneurs and early-stage enterprises
- Identify and nurture innovation-driven rural business models
- Facilitate access to funding, mentorship, and market linkages
- Collaborate with government bodies, NGOs, incubators, and private sector stakeholders
- Conduct ecosystem assessments and develop policy recommendations
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes and impact
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in startup and enterprise development, with a strong focus on rural or emerging markets
- Demonstrated success in rural entrepreneurship, business strategy, and operational scaling
- Deep understanding of innovation trends and emerging market dynamics
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field; MBA or equivalent preferred
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience working with government or multilateral development programs
- Familiarity with rural livelihood models and grassroots innovation
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders
