Job Description
Mobile applications are critical to our business given that these are the key customer facing channels. The Senior Software Engineer in Mobile Apps will be responsible for helping Mobile Application team is to design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable Android applications that meet business and customer needs for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays; ensuring it is delivered effectively, on time and achieves the intended business and user goals. The Senior Software Engineer will provide technical expertise, mentor junior developers, and uphold coding standards to enhance team productivity. They will actively contribute to the app's architecture, optimize performance, and ensure the implementation of best practices in mobile app development.
Additionally, the role requires problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges, staying updated with the latest Android trends and technologies, and driving innovation within the team. The Senior Software Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring timely delivery of high-quality applications that align with the organization's goals and customer expectations.
As a Senior Software Engineer Android at Jet2 Travel Technologies will be Reporting to the Lead Software Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend engineers, to deliver high-quality iOS applications that enhance the customer experience and drive business growth, This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, contributing to innovative features and improvements that impact millions of users.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Your role will be to enhance our existing set of mobile apps as well as to develop new apps which provides our customers with the VIP service they expect from our award-winning brands.
- You will be responsible for the delivery of assigned user stories/tasks, meeting your own goals
- You will take pride in the quality of your code, writing and peer-reviewing clean, maintainable code that youll support in the future.
- You will be passionate about delivering quality apps, innovating and bringing new technology to the team.
- You will work closely with your colleagues in the UK, actively participate in earlier phases of the scrum and propose a plan of action to achieve the desired outcome.
- Constantly mentor junior developers through KT sessions across the team
- The successful candidate would carry a strong willingness to learn and grow technically.
- Monitor app performance on live environment and help team in analysing the fix implementation
- Work with development team lead to give constant input on scaling the existing product
