Job Description
We are a printing company based in DR Congo, Africa - We are looking for a young mature, responsible, motivated, enthusiastic, honest, energetic electrical / mechanical maintenance engineer.
Please read all conditions below before applying for the job.
We are looking for an active young individual who is willing to move to DR Congo in Africa for a minimum 3 year contract. This individual will be very proactive, enthusiastic and motivated.
You must have experience as an electrical / mechanical engineer in a similar role and function. English language is a must.
Some of your roles will include:
- Planning & carrying out scheduled maintenance on generators, airconditioners, printing machinery, compressors, UPS's etc.
- Respond to emergencies.
- Diagnosing faults.
- Repairing equipment's and testing repairs.
- Supervising contractors, and guiding local staff to get work done.
- Ordering specialist components, fixtures or fittings.
- Creating maintenance procedures.
- Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.
- Diagnose breakdown problems.
- Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly.
- Control maintenance tools, stores, and equipment.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs & safety measures of the machine.
- Guiding plant team/ labour about safety measure of the machine.
- IT competent with basic knowledge
- Going to the market to look for parts
- To make list of spare parts & inventory planning with indents.
- To ensure safety at the workplace.
- To ensure day to day equipment trouble shooting is done in appropriate manner.
- Shifting of machinery from time to time.
- Following up on maintenance works such as concrete, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, painting etc.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Must have a diploma, degree in mechanical / electrical engineering or maintenance.
- Proficiency in using computers (Excel, Word, Email etc.)
- Computer knowledge is a must
- Must be hands on and have knowledge of electrical / mechanical maintenance.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
1. You will be required to stay in Congo for a duration of 3 years minimum term contract.
2. Salary will be dependent on experience. You will be provided sharing accommodation in large size house, with TV, servant and cook. Transport to work is provided by company. Security is also provided, and Congo is a relatively safe country.
3. Good written and spoken English is a must. Knowledge of french language is recommended but not a must.
4. Congo is very different to India, so you will be required to adapt to different culture and atmosphere easily.
5. You must be between 22 and 40 years of age.
6. You must be a non drinker or light drinker.
7. You must not have any health issues and must be active and physically fit.
8. You will be required to multi task and manage a team under you, so we require someone who is a responsible mature person with leadership qualities and has good negotiating skills.
9. We expect that you have experience in all of the above prior to coming to Congo.
10. We require a deposit of 50,000 rupees from you on acceptance of our offer. This deposit will be refunded to you within 7 days of arriving to congo. The reason for this deposit is so that we know you are serious and you will not change your mind after we begin applying for your visa and purchase your air ticket. Normally it will cost us 100,000 rupees for your visa and airticket.
11. You must be ready to start within 1 month and have a valid passport.
