Role Overview

We seek a hands-on, rigorous, fully engaged Senior IT Manager reporting to our VP Operations that will lead our internal IT team. We are a fast growing, global organization professionalizing our internal IT functions to eliminate manual workflows in favor of automated processes available as features across our expanding cloud IT stack (NetSuite, Salesforce, Jira, etc.). We are in the midst of an aggressive M&A acquisition program, requiring significant, ongoing IT integration work. This role also requires leading our day-to-day IT support helpdesk team, supporting technology for our employees worldwide, their devices, network connections and so forth.


Uniquely however, as a global engineering services firm, our internal IT infrastructure represents our client delivery environment. As such, our Senior IT Manager has the incremental challenge of supporting a broad array of mission-critical development tools and environments required to deliver IT services to our enterprise clients. That means that at Algoworks, IT problems delay Algoworks revenue. Furthermore, since clients buy IT services from us via our internal IT infrastructure, which is transparent to them, it is paramount that our own technology be absolutely world class, in their eyes. In this day and age of AI, which services we also sell and implement on behalf of clients, all of our internal IT must continue at the forefront of being fully AI enabled and utilized, to the fullest efficient extent possible.


Responsibilities

  • Become Algoworks primary expert regarding Algoworks internal IT landscape

- Begin role with an initial audit and assessment of Algoworks overall IT profile. Identify tools used around the globe by different employee constituent groups

- Research all subscription services we pay for, by employee constituency. Identify excess licenses, unused services, shared accounts, expansion opportunities, etc.

- Identify problem areas and opportunities to better use licensed software against industry best practices, or by evolving outdated methodologies to feature/functionality embedded in current solutions from vendors

- Develop an overall map of Algoworks IT landscape. Identify opportunities for efficiency, expansion, upgrades, obsolescence, legacy migrations, etc.

- Develop a strategic IT roadmap for Algoworks, leveraging all of the above

  • Support corporate expansion with an efficient IT network taking best advantage of chosen platforms to maximize the overall ROI of IT

- Algoworks uses NetSuite, Salesforce, Jira, Microsoft portfolio (Office 365, Azure, SharePoint, PowerBI, etc.) and Keka (for HCM)

- Ensure platforms communicate with one another as needed, uploading data to a common datalake on a regular cadence using PowerBI as a reporting/dashboarding tool spanning all business functions

- Design and implement integrated IT department reporting and analytics in favor of visually engaging and intuitive dashboards and reports, emphasizing clear communication of complex data through charts, graphs and other visual elements

- Identify manual workflows throughout the organization and program manage migrating them into automated workflows leveraging existing platform features

- Become one of Algoworks leading internal AI experts, especially as relates to corporate efficiency opportunities leveraging our chosen IT stack

  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations

- Manage internal cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, software platforms, networking, delivery environments, security

- Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices for automation and consistency

- Monitor system performance, identify potential bottlenecks and implement proactive solutions

- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues quickly and effectively

- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations

  • Maintain security and compliance standards, implement best practices

- Implement and enforce security best practices spanning Algoworks cloud infrastructure and internal IT environment

- Identify and mitigate security risks, ensure preparedness. Document protocols, mitigation strategies, resolution processes, contingencies, recovery plans

- Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations.

- Participate in security audits and vulnerability assessments

- Take lead in responding to periodic client security audits and vulnerability assessments, and generally ensure adherence to required security standards

  • AI and Advanced IT Functionality Utilization, Process Improvement

- Become a key Algoworks expert on AI efficiency programs via our IT platform

- Develop and implement programs to leverage AI in any/all facets of IT, licensed platforms, dashboards/KPIs, helpdesk implementation, etc.

- Develop strategies to leverage the AI roadmaps of all company-used platforms in favor of improving quality and/or efficiency, and ROI

- Identify and implement process improvements using AI-enhanced methodologies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs and improve quality

- Identify AI helpdesk best practices to stay at the forefront of IT helpdesk services

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base and self-service resources for internal users

- Sponsor initiatives to train staff at all levels and roles, and generally keep Algoworks at the forefront of the AI curve

  • Internal IT helpdesk support

- NetSuite, Salesforce, Jira, Microsoft suite administration and support

- User account management and access control, SSO, etc.

- Desktop and laptop support (hardware and software)

- Network connectivity issues

- Email and productivity suite support

  • Establish and maintain efficient processes and standards for IT helpdesk support, including

- Establish a standard of courtesy, responsiveness and respect for fellow employees requiring IT support from your team

- Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences

- Establish ticketing system, measuring response times, resolution times, etc. against internal organizational SLAs

- Research and implement industry best practices for IT support

- Monitor employee satisfaction with internal helpdesk support

- Reporting, metrics, KPIs, etc. to be measured and reported monthly

  • Subscription, Vendor Relationship Management

- Build and maintain strong IT vendor relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for key vendors

- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for managing all company software and cloud service subscriptions, vendors, partners, etc.

- Maintain an accurate inventory of all subscriptions, including licensing terms, renewal dates and costs

- Proactively monitor subscription usage and identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings, or expansion in favor of efficiency gains where fruitful

- Manage the procurement, renewal and termination processes for subscriptions

- Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing

- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements

  • Lead and mentor a team of IT support professionals

- Provide leadership, mentoring and motivation to the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

- Optimize resource allocation ensuring maximum utilization and productivity

- Develop and implement advanced skills training programs, leveraging AI-powered e-learning platforms and hands-on workshops to enhance team capabilities

  • M&A IT integrations

- Participate in M&A due diligence sessions and generally establish a framework for assessing and evaluating M&A target IT infrastructure

- Develop integration playbook consisting of best practices for rapid integration post transaction, including KPIs, trackers and dashboards

- Execute and program manage M&A IT integrations efficiently and effectively

- Leverage AI where feasible to speed integration efforts

- Become a key member of Algoworks M&A team

  • Strategic Planning, Budgeting and Execution

- Develop and implement strategic IT roadmaps and plans aligned with Algoworks long-term goals. Leverage AI-driven forecasting models and scenario planning

- Oversee and manage the annual budgeting process, ensuring precise allocation of resources using AI-powered zero-based budgeting techniques

- Execute operational strategies with a focus on scalability and sustainability, utilizing AI-enhanced KPIs and dashboards to track progress and outcomes


Qualifications

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in managing a global engineering services enterprise cloud IT infrastructure network (Azure preferred) and team
  • Ability to rigorously lead/manage/run a data-led IT function/team, leveraging KPIs and dashboards in order to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights through visually appealing presentations and reports
  • Strategic IT budgeting, planning, roadmapping, etc. experience, forecasting traffic needs, functional requirements, integration needs, etc. across a growing engineering services firm
  • M&A experience defining/running IT integration programs across acquisitions
  • Extensive experience supporting NetSuite, Salesforce, Jira, the Microsoft Suite (described above), Keka (or other HCM), etc. enterprise platforms
  • Experience creating visually driven presentations to convey complex financial and operational performance and trends clearly and concisely to private equity sponsors, senior leadership and the board
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Savvy at building trusted internal stakeholder relationships across the org
  • Ability to work in a hands-on manner, independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
