Sybase Expert (DBA) / Sybase- ASE, IQ, RS

Location: Bangalore & Chennai

Work Mode: Hybrid Mode (2 day work from office)

Shift: 24*7 (Morning, Second & On-call on Night and during weekends)

Experience:

• 15 to 18 years of experience in database administration, preferably working with Sybase.

Role Summary:

The company is looking for a Sybase expert with deep technical knowledge across:

• Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise)
• Sybase RS (Replication Server)
• Sybase IQ (Analytics Server)

You should be an expert who can manage and optimize databases, ensure smooth operation, and lead/support database-related projects.

Mandatory Skills:

• Expertise in Sybase (ASE, RS, IQ)
• Experience with migrations, upgrades, and patch management
• Scripting Shell scripting and maybe Python/Perl for automation
• Query optimization & performance tuning
• Backup, restore, and replication
• Security management
• Cloud (AWS, Azure) basic to intermediate experience
• Incident Management using ITIL
• Presentation and Excel skills
• LEAN process improvement knowledge

Good to Have:

• Experience with very large database environments (e.g., 500+ instances)
• Exposure to PostgreSQL or MongoDB
• Cloud certifications
• More programming knowledge for scripting/automation

Qualification:

• Degree in engineering, computer science, or MCA (Master of Computer Applications)
• Optional but nice to have: Certifications related to RDBMS (Relational Database Management Systems)
