Job Description

Role: SQL Server DBA (9 PM to 6 AM)

This role requires DBA experience and technical skills essential to support complex database systems, to effectively contribute to database related projects also to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

Provide database support and maintenance.
Perform database migrations to new systems and new software releases
Deliver new database services.
Troubleshoot database related issues, support incidents and changes
Work with multiple database servers and complex database environments
Provide on-call database support as a member of a Global Team
Perform RCA for incidents & provide remediation plan to functional teams.

Soft Skills required

Attention to Detail
Possess a keen interest within database technologies SQL Server by understanding new current/forthcoming versions
Skill in using analytics, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot issues and find the best solutions to overcome challenges
Must have a passion for providing excellent support to all types of users as well as impeccable verbal and written communication skills
Must possess organizational proficiencies to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision
Must be a team player and have the ability to interact with multiple levels of personnel within the organization

Requirements:

At least 7-10 years of experience in administrating SQL Server on windows
Understanding of database design, installation and configuration, database monitoring tools and disaster recovery solutions
Technical skills:
- Backup and recovery
- Database operations, indexing, configuration, patching
- Expertise in database performance tuning
- Database Security
- Database Management
- SQL Server 2012-2019

- Database performance management and tuning
- Always On, Database mirroring, Replication
- SQL Server tools (Profiler, SSMS, Configuration Manager, PerfMon, DMVs, system stored procedures)
- Exposure to Azure SQL, MI and AWS RDS a bonus

Formal Education & Certification

Bachelors degree in computer science / information system / Electronics Engineering or equivalent
ITIL certified - Added advantage.
Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS)
